Central’s Sydney Morrell signs with Iowa State
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - One Cheyenne athlete has officially signed the dotted line for a Division I school. Sydney Morrell has made her presence known for central’s cross country team, and will get to continue her success as an Iowa State Cyclone.
Sydney’s final season in cross country was a decorated one, as she won both the individual and team cross country titles with the Lady Indians. She was a part of two state championship teams in her time with central. In her recruiting process, Sydney said that her visit to Iowa State made her feel confident that she’d found the school for her.
“It really had to do with like the environment of the people and the coaches, it was so much fun. Actually, I got to go when they had a home indoor meet and I got to see the environment on meet day too. It was super fun,” said Morrell.
Morell mentioned that she took visits to Wyoming, Colorado State, and Boise State before deciding her next steps would be in Ames, IA.
