Casper Rec Center Turns 40
Casper, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
For 40 years Casper’s recreation center has stood the test of time. This Saturday marks 40 years of continuous dedication.
So, this Saturday the rec center turns 40?
Lori Spearman, Casper Rec Center Coordinator, says “Yes.”
So, 40, and in that time frame how has the rec center changed?
“Programs have come and gone, of course you know you don’t see any more leg warmers and leotards in fitness class.”
Is there an event going on this Saturday?
“Yes, we have an open house from 10 to 2 and passes will be discounted for the recreation center during that time um the first 40 people get 40 percent off and so on down the line. The least you can get off that day is 20 percent, so um we’ll have refreshments and we’re going to have all kinds of mini classes that you can come and try out in fitness. Some gymnastics, dance and arts and crafts, so they’ll be something going on every half hour we’ll change some classes up, but you’ll have several to choose from each half hour.”
Is there anything you want the community to know what’s happening on Saturday?
“Well, everything is free; admission is free from 10 to 2 and again we have refreshments and all kinds of fun things going on door prizes and. We just want to celebrate with the community.”
If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, make sure to head over to the Rec Center this Saturday in your best 80′s gear.
