Casper businesses damaged by Tuesday’s high winds
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - With winds reported at 75 miles an hour on Tuesday, homes and businesses experienced damage across Natrona County.
One local restaurant owner describes how the weather is impacting his business.
Tuesday’s windstorm not only caused power outages but also caused damage to homes and businesses. Jim Childs owns a local restaurant and food truck, he tells me his reaction to seeing the damage to the trailer.
“I didn’t realize how sentimentally attached I was to that trailer, I have cooked for a lot of people on that, weddings, funerals um ghost games deer creek days you know events at the fairgrounds, you name it we’ve done it.”
Jim recalls building the trailer with his neighbor 20 years ago.
“Um he let me help him, by that I mean he’d say Jimmy go get me a Phillips and I’d go get him a Phillips, um but he built it and its just its stood the test of time you know.”
Since last night Jim has called his insurance, now it’s a waiting game to see what will happen.
“Looking at it the, the roof didn’t just blow off it broke off the two poles its welded to it broke the poles in half. I don’t know what we’re gonna do now, I don’t know, I don’t know how to go about repairing it I don’t know how I just we’re gonna navigate it through this.”
