CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Hornets found mixed results Monday evening when they hosted Bridgeport High School on the hardwood.

The girls’ team struggled to find any sort of rhythm, and Bridgeport put the game out of reach fairly quickly. It ended as a 72-27 loss for Pine Bluffs; they will be looking for answers after falling to 2-7 on the season.

The boys’ team found much more success in their contest, and Dalton Schaefer was instrumental in their 80-51 victory. Schaefer was lights out from beyond the arc, leading the team with 27 points. He one of three Hornets that scored in double figures on the night. Monday’s win moved the #1 team in 2A to 7-1 thus far; their only loss was at the hands of 3A #1 Douglas.

Both teams return to the court on Jan. 5.
