CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - A three sport star for the Lady Indians made it official Wednesday for where she will compete collegiately. Central’s Madisyn Baillie signed on to be a track and field athlete at Southern Utah University.

She said that she was sold on the Thunderbirds after her very first trip to campus.

“Well I visited Southern Utah in November. I just visited campus, I toured the facilities, I met the team, they took me out for dinner, and I just felt so welcome. They were amazing and I just loved it there,” Baillie said.

They will be getting a versatile athlete down in Cedar City; Baillie excels in all three sports she participates in.

She started up hoops season last week, and was first team All-Conference in basketball for the 2021-2022 season. Not only that, she was also All-Conference in volleyball this past fall.

However, in the sport she will continue at the next level she has been just as (if not more) impressive. Baillie has been a part of two state championship winning track and field teams. In May she had three finishes in the top five at the 4A state meet: third place in the 100 meter hurdles, fifth in the 300 meter hurdles and fifth in the high jump.

The accolades do not stop there, as she holds the Central school record for high jump as well.

Before she begins her college career though, she has one last rodeo with the team she loves.

“My last season. Just with all my teammates, they’re really home to me. Just because they’re so supportive to me, but also my coaches [as well],” Baillie said.

Congratulations to Madisyn, and good luck to her at the college level.
