Comea Comedy Awards brings comedian Christopher Titus and Homelessness front and center
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Comedian, actor and storyteller Christopher Titus is coming to Cheyenne.
He will be at the Lincoln Theater this Friday, Dec. 9th, for the Comea Comedy Awards.
The benefit and proceeds will help raise money for the homeless.
“Everybody thinks that homeless people are like, ‘Oh, they don’t want to work or this or that,” but that’s not the case. Ninety percent of them are mentally ill, and these guys (at Comea) are trying to fix the problem. Anybody who’s trying to fix the problem, I like to help out,” said comedian Christopher Titus.
The show is called “Carrying Monsters,” the comedian’s 10th in his series of specials and performances.
The evening will include a red carpet entrance, dinner, awards and great comedy for a cause near and dear to Titus’s heart and life.
“There a de-humanizing aspect to how people treat the homeless that I can’t.. that really bothers me... Nothing makes someone feel better than recognizing them and seeing them, and I think that’s the problem we’re seeing right now.”
Titus says the show is meant to help people laugh their behinds off and help some folks in need.
