#GivingTuesday gives back during the season
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Small Businesses Saturday, Giving Tuesday is a global campaign focusing on giving back during the holidays.
“Its a huge opportunity to for us to support things in our community and thats what giving tuesday is about,” said Bryan Pedersen, Co-Chair of United Way of Laramie County.
On this day, non-profits take donations to help our neighbors and the communities that need it the most.
Many non-profits are participating in this #GivingTuesday, and working with partners to create resources that give folks access to donations, food, resources programs and grants.
Several organizations also have a “match donation” program in which private donors match funds given by the community to help the most in this season of giving.
“When folks think about what they are grateful for and ways that they can constribute we know that they will be thinking about wyoming equality and all of the partners who we’re working with this year. Community organizations who do the work around the state,” said Sara Burlingame, Executive Director of Wyoming Equality.
Donations can be given year-round...But the campaign and matching donations are open until midnight on Tuesday. For more information on #GivingTuesday, United Way’s Giving Tuesday or Wyoming Equality’s Giving Tuesday, click the blue links to donate or volunteer.
