Baseball Legend and Casper Native Mike “Devo” Devereaux Sharing His Game-Changing Story at Boys & Girls Club Event

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Release) - Mike Devereaux, a Casper native and the most prolific Wyoming-born baseball player in our state’s history, will share his game-changing story at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming’s Reverse Raffle on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Ford Wyoming Center.
During his career, Devereaux spent 12 years in the Major Leagues with five different teams, including the Baltimore Orioles where he was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame recognition in 2021. He is a two-time World Series Champion, National League Champion Series MVP, 7th in the 1992 American League MVP race and one of the most dominating Wyoming high school athletes ever in baseball, football, basketball and track. He won four state track events and set state records for Kelly Walsh High School in 1981, which has never been done again. He was inducted in the National High School Hall of Fame for his athletic achievements.
Mr. Devereaux’s extraordinary skills on the baseball field and elite athleticism made him a force in the Major Leagues. In addition to his successful playing career, Devereaux served 10 years as a hitting and fielding coach in the minor leagues. He played collegiately at Mesa Community College and Arizona State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance. Mike is married to Michelle, and they have five children. He currently lives in the Tampa area.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming serve youth, ages 5-18, at 11 sites in Natrona, Converse, Fremont, and Johnson Counties. The Annual Reverse Raffle & Auction is one of the Club’s largest fundraisers in support of its $5.1 million dollar annual operating budget.
