Bureau of Land Management and The Wyoming Department of Transportation building bridges
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Bureau of Land Management and The Wyoming Department of Transportations staff may soon work together to build a bridge on highway 22 near Teton county.
They also want public comment on proposed temporary work-crew housing.
“We’ve received some supportive statements and some statements against the project from the public. So we decided that a great opportunity to utilize public scoping processes to get all the different opinions to help us make an informed decision,” said Douglas Linn Pinedale, Field Manager.
BLM staff wants to create temporary housing to support an upcoming highway project in Teton county.
Parcel 26 is the proposed site to ease worker traffic in and around the site.
This larger project will consist of a bridge replacement and a wilderness crossing.
" The temporary housing for the construction workers is a great tool for us to use when we need it in situations where available housing for those workers might be really far away or might be not as cost-effective,” said Jordan Achs, Deputy of Public Relations.
This bridge proposal recently won an environmental award for its wildlife awareness. Construction will start in 2023.
