CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne officials are working toward annexing county pockets, and they want us to know they are working to make this transition as easy as possible for those interested.

Cheyenne’s Planning and Development Division staff are currently working on the background steps with municipal codes to help the county pocket annexation.

This change will be open to the public for those interested in joining the city.

This offers quick service from first responders with a clear map of what districts they can help.

The only fees the City is absorbing are Annexation application fees and fees that a property owner would have regarding the preparation of an annexation map and survey.   Any water and sewer connection will require payment of applicable fees and installation per the Board of Public Utilities standards.

“With the city annexing the property, none of these fees will be required to be paid. These will be all ones that are facilitated and paid for by the city,” said Charles Bloom, Director of Planning and Development, City of Cheyenne.

The first annexation ordinance of county pockets is expected in Dec.
