Wyoming’s Employment Symposium starts October 5th

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - When employers want to expand their ability to hire larger amounts of staff, the Wyoming Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities suggests they look at hiring someone with dedication and a disability.

The Wyoming Employment Symposium will be on Oct. 5th at the University of Wyoming’s Conference Center.

The tickets cost $50 for this day-long event, and scholarships are available.

It is open to everyone, from employers to folks looking for work.

This year’s focus is worker retention, with guest speakers discussing communication and inclusive hiring.

There will also be a panel of speakers, 20 vendors, a brunch and a resource expo throughout the day.

“Employment is just so important for anybody, especially now with everything that has gone on the last couple of years. people are getting back into the workforce, and its really. Employing people with disabilities is a whole untapped resource for employees and dedicated employees,” said Aleyta Zimmerman, Projects Manager, Wyoming Governor Council of Developmental Disabilities.

October is also National Disability Employment Awareness month.
