CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Indians were on the short road to Laramie for a game against the Plainsmen and Keagan Bartlett made the most of his chances in higher altitude.

“Well so they were in man, so there were a couple times where it was a throw and their backs were turned and you can kind of take off there. I think it’s always part of the gameplan to have me run the ball a little bit, but maybe not necessarily for three touchdowns but it just kind of worked out that way,” Bartlett said.

Not only did he have three rushing touchdowns, he had another two through the air in the 42-6 rout. All told, Keagan had 266 yards, 5 touchdowns, and helped the Indians defend their fourth ranking in the state.

Keagan’s had a larger workload on the ground in previous seasons, but he says his passing stats have improved due to the talent he has in the backfield.

“Just we’ve had a lot of success throwing it, and running the ball wise we’ve got three guys in the backfield, as coach a put it, they’d start on probably any team in the state. So my rushing stats aren’t necessarily as good as they were last year, but that’s because we just got dudes in the backfield,” Bartlett said.

Central will face South in their next game on Sept. 30.
