Prep Athlete of the Week: Dom Kaszas
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - If you’ve been watching the Friday Night Frenzy’s, you’ve likely noticed that the East Thunderbirds are a tough team to stop. Their second athlete of the week this early in the year just proves that, as Dom Kaszas had a performance too large to let go unnoticed.
“It felt nice. You always know the feeling of scoring a touchdown it’s a great feeling. When you get four of them, it’s something different,” said Kaszas.
That’s right, Dom scored 4 Touchdowns in Friday’s contest against Laramie., all of those coming in the first half. He picked up three through the air, and one on the ground in East’s 63-7 win. Dom was quick to credit the new scheme, saying that it’s helped the transition to East much easier.
“I feel perfect. I feel like this is where I belong. Perfect scheme for me, The coaches are great play-callers, they get the ball around. It just works out really well,” Kaszas said.
Prior to becoming a Thunderbird, Dom played at Sheridan. While moving to a new school can be daunting, his teammates have been willing to make sure he’s understanding the new playbook.
“yea, especially with learning the new stuff, they were always helping me. If I didn’t understand a play, I could go to them and they’d be perfectly willing to help me and tell me what I run or what to do, stuff like that.”
Dom Kazsas and East will play Rock Springs to push for a 5-0 start to the year.
