CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Sept. 11, the Wyoming Bombers 12u Baseball Team and several players from the Cheyenne Mustangs ran 103 Laps around the field touching 412 bases to honor the first responders that gave their lives on 9/11.

The players and their families and many rescuers joined them in their run to honor all that day. Almost 40 rescue personnel from many agencies come show their full support for the players to honor all Emergency Services.

The memorial run started off with an explanation to the players of what happened that day, and that emergency services are still here today to support and respond to the community in need. Runners did a warmup and stretching routine that baseball players do, then stood the base path and lined up for the National Anthem MLB style with a Helicopter Flyover from Lifeline.

Feet hit the bases and the team and runners went around and around the diamond of a baseball field touching the bases as they ran to them. Many rescuers joined the run in Full Protective equipment during the run.

The players learned that hard work, positive motivation, helping each other by pushing to complete the run.

The Wyoming Bombers is thankful to all that came and stood by these players and helped push them to the end. They are already looking forward to next year’s memorial run.
