CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Football season is right around the corner, and just about every player on a roster is looking for their breakout year. A few athletes in Wyoming have already made their presence known, especially in the Cheyenne viewing area. So, who are the guys to look out for in this upcoming season? We start in 4A.

Central QB Keagan Bartlett could often be seen making plays from under center for the Indians last year. With his senior season on the horizon, Keagan has his sights set on creating a legacy in his final year of high school football.

“Obviously All-State, I wanna do the thousand-thousand again and then, for me I want to be the Gatorade Player of the Year, State Championship,” said the Central QB.

The next name on the list only recently moved to the Cheyenne viewing area, but has been a playmaker elsewhere in the state. Wide receiver Dom Kaszas joins East High School for his final season, an offense he believes could be tailor-made to evolve his game.

“Sheridan, they don’t really trow the ball a lot and that was really my thing was playing receiver. I feel like here, I’ll get a lot more touches because they actually throw the ball and my game will probably elevate because of the opportunities I get to touch the ball,” Kaszas said of the new opportunity.

4A football isn’t the only place you can find standout athletes, Pine Bluffs’ Ryan Fornstrom is living proof of that. In 1A 9-man football, he and prep athlete of the year Stu Lerwick helped guide pine bluffs to 9 wins last year, progress that was motivated by struggles the team had in Fornstrom’s freshman campaign.

Fornstrom said, “With my freshman year, we got the crap beat out of us. I think we won 1 game my freshman year, and I don’t think I’ve ever hating losing more than that. I’ve always grown up and I’ve never wanted to lose, I’ve never liked losing, so that pushed me.”

Wyoming’s High School football season kicks off Friday August 26th.
