Riverfest returning for 30th annual celebration
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Get your rubber ducks in a row, because Saturday Aug 20, Riverfest is celebrating 30 yeas of fun in the name of trail building.
The Platte River Trails Trust is the primary trail building organization in Casper. For 40 years, the trust has worked with the City of Casper and other municipalities to plan and construct trails and maintain the Platte River Trail.
Riverfest is a fundraiser that helps the Trails Trust continue their mission of building trails for the community. In the next few years, their work will connect trails around Casper.
“We have a beautiful river trail, we have quite a few miles up to five miles of Casper Rail trail, as well as trails in our neighborhoods, but focus in the next few years is really going to connect all those trails to make it easier for people to run, walk, and cycle throughout our community,” said Platte River Trails Trust Executive Director Angela Emery.
Riverfest will be held from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Crossroads Park in Casper. Live music, the Duck Derby, inflatables, and a microbrew competition are a few highlights of 2022′s event.
