CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Summer is drawing to a close, and school will be back in session soon. On Aug. 18, Casper College was buzzing as students began moving into the dorm for the fall semester.

For many freshmen at the college, their high school experience was anything but normal, now they’re looking forward to college being a different experience.

“I’m really excited about classes, finally some classes, not just classes you have to take in high school, classes I actually get to choose what I want to do. So I’m excited for that,” said student James Hundt.

Before classes begin, students are moving into their homes on campus or around Casper.

Students living on campus were greeted by the CC Move-In Crew, who helped families transition students into their homes for the school year. Some members of the move-in crew included resident assistants, who have been training for weeks in the lead-up to move-ins.

“The mood has been you know stressful, but also really prepped and excited to meet everybody. We’ve been training for the last two weeks, so getting here, getting to meet everybody, I feel like it’s been a really high level of excitement maybe a little bit of anxiousness mixed in,” said Casper College Resident Assistant Emma Jay.

Despite the nervous feelings shared by parents and students, before the end of the day, some students were ready for a taste of freedom that comes with being in college.

“I was nervous at first but now I’m not anymore so kind of ready to go ready for mom and dad to leave now let me do my own thing,” said Hundt.

Casper College classes will begin on Monday, Aug. 22.
