CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - 4A Wyoming High School Football kicks off on Friday, Aug. 26.

One of the players to keep an eye out for this season is Laramie’s Mahlon Morris. Morris is playing football for the first time since 8th grade after deciding to play the sport in his final year of high school.

Morris was an All-State basketball selection and was top-10 in 4A in rebounds in 2022. He is without question one of the best athletes in the state.

“The whole team really and Coach Ronga [got me to want to play football],” said Morris. “[Ronga is] a great coach he really tried to recruit me and the environment that everybody brings on the football team I really like and I want to spend my last year with my friends just playing another sport with them.”

The Laramie Plainsmen kickoff the season at home against Natrona County.
