HIGHLIGHTS: Sixers lose to Idaho Falls, head to loser’s bracket of Northwest Regional Tournament
GILLETTE Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After a dominant 10-2 win on over Eagle River (AK) on Wednesday, the Cheyenne Post 6 Sixers took on the two-time reigning American Legion World Series champion Idaho Falls Bandits on Thursday evening.
However, for the second year in a row, the Sixers fall in the second round of the American Legion Northwest Regional Tournament and are headed to the loser’s bracket.
Cheyenne took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning, but couldn’t muster any more runs against Utah commit Merit Jones. Jones pitched a complete game and struck out 11 batters in victory.
The Sixers next take on Yakima Valley (WA) in the loser’s bracket on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Cheyenne lost to Yakima 8-3 in the 2021 Regional Tournament. Post 6 must now win two straight games to get into the regional championship game on Sunday.
