Misfit Lamps helping Cheyenne children head back to school
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - A Cheyenne business provides light in people’s homes with unique lamps, and now, they’re providing light in local children’s lives.
Blain Nicholson started Misfit Lamps as a way to refurbish old items while enjoying his career as an electrician. Each lamp is one of a kind and made from household items that are either donated or found at a local thrift store.
Nicholson says he’s always had a passion for helping the youth in the Cheyenne community. He started a nonprofit six years ago called Santa’s Little Helpers and raises money to help out with the Angel Tree.
This month, he’s teaming up with Beach Please Drink Company to raise money to provide local children with school supplies.
“Having school supplies and being able to go to school everyday and not worry about what you need and go ahead and further your education and worry you don’t have pencils, you don’t have pens, we want students to have everything they need to further their education,” said Blain Nicholson, the owner of Misfit Lamps.
If you would like to donate school supplies or make a monetary donation, you can do some at Beach Please Drink Company, or click the link here.
Misfit Lamps and Beach Please Drink Company will host a Back to School Drive on August 13th. Misfit Lamps will also be selling some of their products at the Depot that day. You can check out their products here.
