CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The cold front pushed through yesterday resulting in some cooler temperatures across the region, but decided to stop along the southern side of the state resulting in an increase in our cloud cover and shower activity throughout the afternoon. While none of the storms are expected to go severe, we can expect some very heavy showers and thunderstorms across the region. More thunderstorms are expected in the forecast tomorrow with the chance for some of them going severe along the eastern side of the state. This is due to the fact that the cold front is just going to stall out resulting in a lot more moisture in our atmosphere. It seems like we are in the classic summertime pattern with storms during the afternoon and evening.

The storm prediction center does have a level to slight risk for severe storms along the north east with some small hail predicted as well. Wind gusts should remain calm until those storms move through with gusts getting over 50 mph within the severe ones. This will certainly result in a few moderate delays along major roads with reduced visibility from heavy rain. The direction of the wind is from the west which means the mountains will make an impact on some of the showers pushing through.

Overnight tonight, low temperatures will stay warm once again due to the cloud cover and shower activity. The temperatures tomorrow are expected to stay on the cooler end of the spectrum just like today. As we had toward the weekend and early next week, temperatures will go back up to the mid to upper 80s and shower chances will go down slightly.
