Rain Towards the Weekend
29 June 2022
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The cold front pushing across the state today has brought some much-needed rain across much of Wyoming. Some of these storms also brought up some lightning, gusty winds, and even severe potential. We are continuing to keep our eye on them throughout the evening as this cold front is expected to stall out over the southern half of the state heading toward the weekend. This will mean an increase in showers and thunderstorms over the next few days are possible. The good news is, we can expect not a lot of severe weather but certainly some thunderstorms.
During that time, wind gusts will begin picking up with those afternoon showers and storms. This will certainly lead to a few moderate delays along major highways and interstates due to the strongest and low visibility from heavy rain. During the rest of the next few days, wind gust should remain relatively calm. Due to the fact that we’re seeing widespread showers and cloud coverage tonight, temperatures will be on the warmer end of the spectrum with lots of 50s and 60s.
Tomorrow, expect the high temperatures to begin dropping down to more seasonal levels with upper 70s and lower 80s across the region thanks to the cold front. Over the next few days, temperatures will rise back up to the upper 80s and lower 90s while rain chances will remain steady in the southern side of the state. Northern regions, will expect to see those temperatures heat up just a little bit faster and those rain chances remain a little bit lower.
