Rain Is On The Way
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Cloud coverage today has been pretty on and off between partly and mostly cloudy. Lots of clouds and rain have been moving across the state today. Many of the rain showers began in the NW corner of Wyoming and across the northern half of the state. Now, showers and clouds are continuing to make their way into the SW corner and moving across the southern half of the state to the SE corner.
Continuing through the rest of the day, teen and 20 mph wind speeds are going to keep the cold front, clouds, and rain showers moving across the state. Some of these showers may even turn into storms. The NE corner of Wyoming is under the Level 2- Slight Risk for severity, while the central and eastern portions of the state remain under the Level 1- Marginal Risk. Thunder/lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rain are all likely. Small hail is also possible. The storms will be clearing out tonight, creating clear conditions along the southern border. The smoke seen across the state will finally be cleared out by tonight, as well. Heavier cloud coverage will remain in the NE corner overnight. Tomorrow, the NE cloud coverage will move to the SE corner and clear out throughout the day. The remaining time Saturday will be seen with partly cloudy skies. Sunday, more clouds will appear in the SE corner.
Thank goodness for this cold front! There were several days of warm to hot temperatures, and Wyoming is finally getting a bit of a break. Temperatures today are cooler than what this week. High temperatures today are ranging from the low/mid 60s to the low/mid 90s. Low temperatures tonight will still be mild, but they will be slightly cooler than they have been in a while. Tonight’s temperatures will range from the lower 30s to mid 50s. High temperatures tomorrow will also be cooler, ranging from the lower 60s to the upper 70s. Temperatures this weekend are going to be nice before warming back up next week.
