CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Natrona County Republican Women are hosting Politics in the Park at Washington Park on Wednesday evenings to learn more about the candidates running in Natrona County and Wyoming Primaries.

“Our intent and our purpose of this is for the constituents to come out meet the people understand their platforms and make an informed, precise decision about who they are gonna vote for,” said Natrona County Republican Women PR and Media Chair Marcia Neumiller.

Politics in the Park began in 2020 as an adaptation of candidate meet and greets that happened before the COVID-19 pandemic. The transition to an outdoor space has allowed more people to participate and listen to what candidates have to say.

“We just started reaching out to all the candidates to see if they’d be willing to come and speak about their platforms and meet some of the constituents here in Natrona County,” said Neumiller.

A social hour at 4:30 p.m. kicks off the event, each week a different food truck will be selling their goods. At 5:30 p.m. speakers will take the stage to answer questions and share more about their platforms. Those in attendance are welcome to submit their questions for candidates during the event.

Politics in the Park is designed to be family friendly, kids are welcome to sit in the audience or play on the nearby playground. Every Wednesday through August 10, candidates will be at Washington Park to meet voters and answer questions.

“Our mission is to educate and encourage all of the public to be involved in political processes. We encourage everyone to come out, meet the candidates, ask their questions, and find out about the political process. Our mission is to make politics accessible to everyone,” said Neumiller.
