Wyoming Equality celebrates Pride in the Park this weekend
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -Members of Wyoming equality will showcase their pride on Saturday with a picnic.
The Pride in the Park event is happening Saturday from 3 pm to 5 at Holliday Park. This is part of over a week’s-long celebration from June 17th to 25th.
Festivities will include a barbeque, family activities, dancing and local vendors.
Although Wyoming Equality loves a good celebration, they want to acknowledge that their work still isn’t over.
“This year feels really particularly important just because 2 people from cheyenne were arrested for going to idaho and trying to violently disrupt their pride. And its more important than ever that we follow the mayor and the city councils lead and we take affirmative steps to show people who we are.” said Sara Burlingame, Executive Director of Wyoming Equality.
Wyoming Equality is supporting both Juneteenth and Pride in the Park activities.
All communities are welcome to the celebrations.
