Wyoming drops both contests in the WY-MT All-Star Games
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - State pride was on the line over the weekend at the Golden Dome in Sheridan and Lockwood High School in Montana. The Wyoming and Montana basketball All-Stars met to try and prove which state was the best on the hardwood.
The kids from the Treasure State were able to pull off another sweet in the series over the Cowboy State’s kids.
During Friday night’s game in Sheridan, the Montana girls won 69-59. Douglas’ Alli Olsen was the leading scorer for the Cowboy State with 13 points.
Natrona County’s Tamryn Blom chipped in 11 points, and Emma Patik, Blom’s high school teammate, finished with eight points.
At Saturday’s contest across the border, Montana widened the margin with a 68-49 victory. Kelly Walsh’s Logann Alvar led the way in scoring with 11 points, and Blom was the only other scorer in double digits with 10 points of her own.
On the boys’ side, the Cowboy State boys fell 103-76 inside the Golden Dome on Friday. Kelly Walsh’s Davis Crilly led the way in scoring with 22 points. Wheatland’s Kade Preuit finished with 12 points of his own.
The Montana boys kept the momentum going on their side of the border on Saturday. They completed the sweep with a 94-77 win, and Crilly finished with 12 points. Dubois’ Cody Wright added 11 points of his own.
The Montana girls are now 37-13 all-time in the series, and the Montana boys are 65-27 after completing the sweeps over the weekend.
