CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Visit Casper has partnered with the National Beard and Mustache Championship to bring the world renown competition to Casper. The event will be held at the Ford Wyoming Center in partnership with the annual Booze and Bacon Festival. This will be the first time that the championships have been held in Wyoming and they have already seen a few Wyoming residents sign up to compete.

The competition is open to all those who are interested in participating. There are almost 50 different competition types so anyone with a beard can join. There is even a competition for those who may be beardless like women and children thanks to the craft competition.

“One of the more creative things, and more interesting parts of the event are the craft categories. People will make beards out of grasses or beer cans or pull tabs or flowers. I could go on and on with anything you could imagine making a beard out of,” said Bryan Nelson who is the Creative Director for Beard Team U.S.A.

The competition will be held at the Ford Wyoming Center on November 12, 2022 and a part of the proceeds will be going to a local charity which has yet to be selected. “We like to pick smaller cool interesting towns so that we can make an impact on the town when a bunch of beard and mustache and facial hair people come together,” said Bryan.

Championship representatives want to make sure that anyone interested registers for a spot to compete and come have fun, “If you know someone who has facial hair that looks cool, or if someone’s ever commented on your facial hair this is a great time to join the competition.”

Registration for the event is now open to the public. You can click here to get tickets or register.
