Prep Athlete of the Week: Brogan Allen

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It has been a crazy last couple weeks for 2022 Cheyenne Central graduate Brogan Allen.

Allen, Wyoming News Now’s Prep Athlete of the Week, was selected as one of just 12 softball players to go on a trip to the Netherlands. She was invited by a Montana State Billings Softball assistant coach, and she will participate in exhibition games against local Dutch teams with the goal of drumming up excitement for softball in the Netherlands.

“When I first got the invite, I was like ‘um wow, like did she mean to send this to me,’” said Brogan Allen.

But the honors did not stop there for Allen. The third basemen/shortstop/pitcher was named the first ever Gatorade Wyoming Softball Player of the Year.

Allen slashed .533 BA/.625 OPB/1.111 SLG in 2022. She also mashed 10 home runs and produced 43 RBI, both of which were the top numbers in the state. Allen’s Lady Indians advanced to their second straight state championship game appearance this season.

Allen will continue her softball career at Dawson Community College in Glendive, Montana.
