Horse Race betting is hitting the downtown
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Yet another horse racing hot spot is opening up and this time it’s in downtown Cheyenne.
The latest Horse Palace will be located in the Grier Building and is slated to open in late June.
Executives say this will help boost the state’s horse industry and the local economy.
The downtown spot is expected to bring about 1-half million dollars in taxes to the city and county and will be the “Wyoming horse racing’s” 9th location.
To help support local businesses, the downtown entertainment HUB is working with restaurants to offer their food at the horse palace location.
“Our hope is that they walk away feeling like they had a nice time. Were treated nicely and that they would want to spend additional time downtown in the shops and restaurants in the area surrounding us,” said Pete Liguori, Executive V.P. Wyoming Horse Racing.
The location will have live-streamed horse races, betting terminals and a bar.
They are expecting roughly 50-million dollars in bets, which will return to patrons, the horse racing industry, and taxes.
