Cheyenne City Council sees changes in Board of Public Utilities budget, pricing
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne city council approved the budget in Monday’s City Council meeting, including a 5% increase in utilities costs.
The price jump comes at a time when the United States faces rising inflation costs, but the board’s new method of charging offers ways to keep prices to a minimum.
“Well, they kind of switched it up to a, instead of just having a set fee for everybody, they’re doing it as a user fee now. So, if you live next door to me, and I’m using ten times the water you are, it’s not going to be set up the same. I’ll be paying more for what I use,” explained Ward 1 City Councilman Scott Roybal.
