CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne city council turns a focus to a pair of proposed trades which should provide the new land needed for two additional fire stations.

Located on Storey Boulevard and Missile Drive, the two plots set to be acquired by the city total to nearly 1.9 million dollars in value.

Trades like this are uncommon in Cheyenne, but not unprecedented. They have been used before to advance development on certain projects.

“It’s been a long time. Occasionally we’ve done trades in the past, we traded some property for the Ice and Events Center before it was built years ago, but we don’t do it very often,” said Councilman Dr. Mark Rinne.

Other topics on tonight’s city council meeting agenda include approving the board of public utilities budget, as well as the potential advancement of two bar and grill license applications.
