Possible Record Heat Tomorrow
10 June 2022
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It was another hot day across much of Wyoming as this warming pattern is expected to continue going toward the weekend. High temperatures across the state were getting ever so closer toward the records. As the day continued into the afternoon, a lot more cloud cover began pushing in from the west which will result in some warmer temperatures tonight, but also increase our chances for precipitation going into tomorrow. None of the showers tomorrow are expected to be severe, but just enough to cool us off during the peak heating hours. Most the rain will push away going into the overnight hours on Saturday with more rain popping up into the forecast on Sunday.
Some of these storms along the eastern side of the state do have the potential to become severe so just be sure to stay updated. The Wyoming wind gusts will be picking up during the afternoon and evening hours over the next few days. They can reach speeds of over 40 mph which may cause a few moderate delays, but mainly help to keep the feels like temperature’s cooler.
Overnight tonight, expect the lows to be in the upper 50s and even lower 60s in some parts of the state. By tomorrow afternoon, if we are not able to hit new record highs, we will still be on the warm end of the spectrum with a lot of 90s across the map and some lower 80s in some of the cooler regions. These hot temperatures look to continue throughout the weekend I’m going into early next week before cold front comes through and drops us down to much more seasonable levels. During that time, do expect an increase in precipitation as the new front pushes through.
