Warming Up for the Weekend
9 June 2022
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Weather conditions were very nice across the state today with mostly clear skies and temperatures getting really warm and actually a little bit close to records along the southern side. While there was some fast moving clouds making their way in from the west, the strong afternoon wind gusts help to push that out. There are only small chances for precipitation over the next few days from those passing clouds with next to nothing in terms of severe weather projected over the next few days. Overall, just expect a little bit of cloud cover heading toward the weekend with some very isolated chances for showers, and overall very warm conditions getting close to if not hitting new record highs.
The wind gusts will only be picking up during the afternoon hours over the next few days. By then, the breezy conditions will help bring our feels like temperature down slightly from this above average heat. Gusts will get up to about 35 mph, but not enough to cause any significant travel delays or road closures along the major interstates and highways.
Overnight tonight, expect the clouds to stick around allowing for the low temperatures to stay on the warmer end of the spectrum with a lot more 50s around. Tomorrow, the warming trend will continue with a lot more 80s across the state and even some lower 90s in the southeast. If you want to experience the 90s for yourself, then just wait until Saturday as a number of places are expecting to hit that mark by then.
