CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Celtic Bison Strongman was held at the Cheyenne Depot, with athletes from Wyoming and beyond making the trip to compete.

The event has been with Above The Rest Training Systems since 2020, with the atmosphere remaining a focal point as the event grows.

“We’re keeping it going, keeping everything flowing to where the competitors are having a good time, trying to keep the crowd in to it, and making it to where it’s all fun for everybody,” said Stan Carradine, a judge at this year’s event.

While the competition can be intense and daunting for some, the bond established between the competitors is a close one. Athletes at the event can often be seen cheering each other on and offering tips and tricks to one another.

“You don’t see smack-talking, you don’t see a bunch of machismo, you tend to see guys critiquing each others form and helping each other pick numbers and figure out events they’ve never done before. It’s a pretty tight-knit group.”

The Celtic Bison Strongman Competition wrapped up around 4 PM on Friday Afternoon.
