Very Warm Weekend Ahead
8 June 2022
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Conditions across the state today were much better than what we’ve seen over the last few days with warm temperatures and mostly clear skies. This won’t last all that much longer considering we do have some heavy cloud cover pushing in from the far west. This is not expected to bring us lots of rain but do expect an isolated sprinkle or two over the next few days. On top of that temperatures are expected to continue warming up heading toward the end of the week and hitting a peak by the weekend.
By that time, it is certainly possible that we can see near record temperatures, but also the chance for more severe storms given that the extreme heat will fuel thunderstorms much more rapidly. Over the next few days, expect wind gusts to only pick up during the afternoon hours. They are expected to reach anywhere from 30 to 35 mph. Luckily, there’s not enough to cause any significant travel delays or closures.
Overnight tonight, an increase in cloud cover is going to result in warmer temperatures tonight with many places staying in the low to mid 50s. The opposite was the case last night with mostly clear skies allowing for a lot of the daytime heat to escape. High temperatures tomorrow afternoon will continue on the warming trend with a lot more upper 70s and even some low 80s across the south east. If the 80s are still too cold for you, then just wait until the weekend where a lot more 90s are popping up in the forecast.
