Jaylyn Christesen tosses no-hitter, Extreme goes undefeated to capture USSSA Wyoming state title
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne Extreme pitcher Jaylyn Christensen was (4-0) in the circle at the Extreme Weekend Tournament. She got things started off with a no-hitter in Game 1 against the Gillette Blue Jays.
Christensen struck out ten batters and allowed just one walk in a run rule shortened five inning game.
“[I] listened to some good music, obviously, to get me hyped up and then I just prepared myself mentally, which is what I was working on during high school season,” said Christensen. “I think that paid off a lot during the Blue Jays game because I knew what I had to do and I was really looking forward to it.”
That music and Christensen’s 4th career no-hitter must’ve jump started something, as all told Extreme went (6-0) on Saturday and Sunday. Cheyenne won the tournament and, in doing so, became the USSSA Wyoming State Softball Champions.
