CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - If you are looking to check out Wyoming’s iconic state parks this summer, you may want to plan ahead.

Reservations are going fast for parks like Curt Gowdy State Park. In fact, the summer is already 97 percent booked!

Wyo Parks recommends that you get your spot reserved in advance if you would like to visit a park. On rare occasions, you can be turned away if you do not have a reservation and the park is full.

In 2020, Curt Gowdy State Park had a record amount of visitors with over 5.5 million people checking out the park.

Last year, that number fell by about 4 percent, but the park is still more than 25 percent higher than the 5 year average.

Making a reservation is easy. Head to the Wyo Parks website here.

Then click on the ‘Permits & Reservations’ tab, if the link didn’t take you there already.

Scroll all the way down and hit the ‘Reserve Now’ button, which will redirect you to a different website.

From there, you can search for sites and campgrounds across the state and book your reservation from there.
