CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Widespread severe thunderstorms surrounding the state was the main story for today. Due to a stalled out front in the north eastern side of Wyoming, lots of thunderstorm activity began popping up during the early afternoon hours. We got lucky considering we only had a few severe storms and surrounding states saw multiple outbreaks. The weather overnight tonight looks to remain relatively calm with some more of those storms popping up on the eastern side of the state by tomorrow afternoon. They do have a chance to become severe, but it is more likely to do so once it heads out into the planes. Rain activity looks to be calming down as we make our way into Wednesday with some increase in clouds coming in from the west.

Wind gusts only looked to pick up during the time the thunderstorms are expected to arrive. This will likely cause a few moderate travel in packs and delays, but nothing too severe. The gusts are expected to get up to over 30 mph and even stronger within the local ice storm. Overnight tonight, temperatures are expected to stay right around the seasonal range with mid 40s and even some low 50s in the southeast.

High temperatures tomorrow are expected to be a little bit lower than today, but that is going to be due to the increase in shower and thunderstorm activity during the peak heating hours of the afternoon. Overall, temperatures and rain chances remain steady throughout the extended forecast with the warmest temperatures this week set for the weekend. Expect some more storms tomorrow, but they should calm down by the time we make our way into the middle and end of this week.
