Lock it or lose it
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - 6 cars were broken into early Wednesday morning off Fox Farm road and Montalto street, according to the Laramie County Sheriffs Office.
Car break-ins are not completely preventable, but there are steps you can take to reduce the risk of theft and damage to your vehicle.
Always lock your doors. Never assume you are safe, or that your car won’t be broken into. Many thieves will check for unlocked doors for easy access.
Never leave valuables, or anything you do not want to lose, in your car unattended. If you are away from your car, bring these items with you. Even if your doors are locked, thieves can still break into the car by smashing a window or picking the lock.
Try to park indoors, or in a well-lit area to help ward off potential thieves.
