Rain Showers And Cooler Temperatures
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
It has been a pretty muggy Memorial Day. This morning within the Cheyenne area, the sun was able to break through the cloud coverage briefly before the clouds built back up. Continuing into the afternoon, temperatures have stayed on the cooler end, clouds have stayed blanketed across the sky, and the Wyoming winds are back and blowing across the state. While the Cheyenne area has not seen any heavy showers this morning, the Casper area has continued seeing rain and snow since very early this morning.
That same rain and snow system is going to keep moving South throughout the day today. This system is bringing rain and snow to most of the northern half of the state and soon the central portion. By later this evening, more of those showers will reach the southern half of the state and move into the SE corner. Overnight, there will be a slight clearing of this system which will break apart the system. This will turn the system into more of a scattered shower pattern during the morning hours and into the afternoon. Tomorrow evening and overnight, there will be another slight clearing that will leave behind the heavier cloud coverage. Going into Wednesday, rain and snow showers will return to the SE corner from the South.
That cold front came in over the weekend and really cooled us off. Wyoming weather may have thought we were getting too excited about starting a real spring season. High temperatures are ranging from the upper 30s to the upper 50s. Low temperature tonight will range from the upper 20s to the mid 40s. The lows tonight will be cool but not miserably cold. High temperatures tomorrow will be a little bit warmer low 40s to mid-60s. Wednesday will be another day of cooler temperatures before a warm up by the end of the week.
