LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - When a child is reported as missing, the Laramie / Albany County Records and Communications Division is the first to take the call.

The LARC Division has renewed it’s membership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s Missing Kids Readiness Program. This program promotes 911 call centers to better respond to calls of missing, abducted, and sexually exploited children.

“The first thing that we like to do is to make people aware in the community that as soon as they suspect that a child is missing is when they should report it. There’s no waiting period, and the longer time that it takes between the time the child goes missing and the time the child is reported as missing makes it more difficult for recovery.” said PSAP Administrator Steven Morgan, of the Laramie Police Department.

If you suspect a child is endangered or missing, do not wait to call 911.
