Natrona County High School softball player signs to Bismarck State College
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Wednesday May 18, Natrona County High School softball player, Julie Dysart, signed her college letter of intent to attend Bismarck State College in North Dakota. Julie has been playing softball since she was a child but said that she never dreamed that she would one day play at the collegiate level.
Julie said, “I think it’s actually insane. It’s kind of scary honestly because six years ago I never would’ve thought that I’d ever be playing college softball. It’s always something I wanted to do but I never really thought of it like that.”
Julie noted that one of the reasons that she chose to attend Bismarck State was because of how much effort the colleges coach put into recruiting her.
“You know the coach really comforted me from the beginning and he was like, “I just want to get you every aspect of it.” So we had a virtual tour, phone calls all the time to talk about any questions that I had, and we went through the academics of it, and even players on the team would have Facetime calls with me to make me feel more comfortable and I eventually just decided that that’s where I would have the most fun,” Julie said
While in attendance at Bismarck State, Julie plans to study nursing. She says that since she is already a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) it would probably be best to continue on that path.
