Science Zone holds unveiling of new exhibits
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Saturday May 7 the Casper Science Zone will be unveiling some new extensive exhibits. These include their women in STEM and Life On The Edge exhibits. Their women in STEM exhibit is meant to encourage young girls to be interested in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
“The idea is that as little girls come though our museum they will be able to see role models that look more like them, and they might be able to be interested in a STEM career, is what we’re hoping,” said Science Zone Director Steven Schnell.
The Life On The Edge exhibit is meant to show how scientists are using animals here on earth to learn how life might survive on other planets. The exhibit includes multiple hands on tools to keep kids interested and learning about these new topics.
Steven also said, “All of this speaks to our mission to inspire the mind, delight the senses, and ignite a passion for the technical arts and sciences. So we are really hoping to give kids and adults the opportunity to learn about the science that’s happening around them, learn about their planet and just get excited by it.”
The unveiling begins at 5:00pm Saturday May 7 with tickets costing $50. This ticket price includes a meal catered by Occasions By Corey and a copy of the Science Zones “Thinkers” book. The artist responsible for the caricatures in the book will also be in attendance to discuss the piece. A link to purchase tickets can be found here.
