CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The winds picked up during the early parts of the day resulting in some delays around the state and a few partial closures around the Elk Mountain region. The good news is we are left with mostly clear skies around the state just a few clouds pushing in from the west, but not much in terms of precipitation was expected today. We have that dissipating cold front that is going to move outside of the state with the chance for some sprinkles out of the very far western regions and mountain ranges. Then, we have that secondary front coming in on Saturday morning that’s going to bring the chance for some isolated showers into the central parts of the state during the day, and then moving toward the southeast by Saturday evening.

A little bit more in terms of isolated showers will take place during the overnight hours with even more so popping up by Sunday. In the meantime, let’s just enjoy our nice weather, but do expect some stronger wind gusts as we head into the afternoon and evening. By tomorrow morning, wind gusts can already get up to about 40 mph in various regions around the state so do expect some travel delays. Sunday, it begins calming down in terms of weird which will be very nice.

We are looking at temperatures tonight staying very warm with lots of upper 40s and even low to mid 50s. As that cold front starts pushing through tomorrow you can really see where it is stopping off for high temperatures as a number of the northern regions were going to stay in the 60s, but the southeast will easily get up into the mid 70s and even those 80s in the Nebraska panhandle. Extended forecast shows warm temperatures with some breezy conditions for the next few days in a slight cooldown as we start off next week before warming back up again. Casper is showing a very similar pattern with a little bit more in terms of a temperature drop heading into Sunday and Monday. The rest of the viewing area is looking at a similar pattern with some places expecting those 80s before quick cooldown comes through and then we warm right back up by the middle of next week.
