The Wyoming International Film Festival is coming to Cheyenne
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - If you are a film lover and have an artistic itch, there are 2 upcoming events you’ll want to mark on your calendar.
The Wyoming international film festival is coming to Cheyenne, starting July 7 through the 10th.
The festival will show feature films, shorts, narratives, documentaries, music videos and web series.
" The majority of films are made right here in Wyoming. That documentaries, shorts, dramas, comedies, and we’re going to have everyone coming together from all over the place just to celebrate film right here in Cheyenne,” said Dominic Syracuse, Head of Creative Marketing-Wyoming International Film Festival.
The 3-day celebration will bring industry professionals, filmmakers, and artists together to screen 128 films from 13 different countries.
The festivities will be at the Surbrugg-Prentice auditorium or SPA.
As part of the event, there will also be a 48-hour film competition. Registration for this event is now open and starts on June 17th to the 19th.
This competition will allow folks to make a 5-minute film. The top 15 winners will be chosen on July 10th to be shown at the festival.
All skill levels are welcome to participate.
“Cheyenne is growing so much, and the arts community is growing so much so this is a chance for anybody thats got that artistic itch, anybody thats interested in film, anybody thats creative to come and do something really really fun,” said Syracuse.
The festival is capped off with an award ceremony where they will present 20 awards and more than $2,000 in prizes to the winners.
