Warm and Clear Cinco de Mayo

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We saw that low pressure and frontal system pushing its way out to the Midwestern states and bringing some severe storms along the southern regions with it. Luckily, around our state, we saw mostly clear skies with temperatures starting to warm up as we go into the afternoon hours. That is due to high pressure sitting around the region which will start to bring in a couple of strong wind gusts as we had into Friday because of another cold front trying to make its way into Wyoming. This front begins dissipating throughout much of Friday before reforming and pushing through late on Saturday upping our rain chances just slightly.
Wind gusts in the meantime will remain calm throughout today before picking up by early Friday morning up to about 35 to 40 mph this becomes more widespread as we head into Friday afternoon and evening for calming down going into the overnight hours. It will pick up once again on Saturday with winds coming in from the west getting up to 35 and 40 mph once again.
Overnight tonight, due to the warm temperatures today, we can expect lows to be in the mid to upper 40s and a few places will stay in those 50s. If you thought today was warm, then wait for tomorrow we are a lot more 70s and even possible 80s come back into the forecast. This trend looks to continue throughout much of the next few days before a slight cooldown going into Sunday and Monday. Of course the Wyoming wind wants to stay with us during that time so expect some breezy conditions as well. For the rest of the viewing area, we can expect warm temperatures for this weekend and those winds to be on the stronger end of the spectrum.
