Cheyenne Florists have busy weekend ahead of Mother’s Day
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Flower shops across Cheyenne are preparing bouquets of mother day flowers, with order numbers growing larger and larger as the day progresses.
“We’re looking at like 250 every day starting today and tomorrow, and then it will bleed into Monday as well,” said Shareen Brendle, the owner of Bouquets Unlimited.
These numbers can be seen across the city, as flower shops are working nonstop to meet order requests.
They said that the mothers day holiday is typically a hectic one, but their weekend is even busier than usual.
Brendle commented, “yeah, we’re definitely in a hustle. We’re in the middle of mother’s day, and there’s two proms this weekend. Unfortunately, we had to cut off some of the orders for prom, because we gotta get our orders out for mother’s day.”
A stacked weekend schedule between the holiday and a pair of proms has left flower shops across the Capital City with an increase in orders. While that provides it’s own challenges, resources are becoming harder to afford to complete these orders.
“I haven’t had too difficult of a time getting flowers in, but the prices have definitely gone up, and the hard goods, we’re having a lot harder time getting that,” said Brendle.”
There are a few ways to save a little money for those last-minute orders.
One way is to avoid call lines, and to contact the flower shop individually to avoid service fees.
“If you call us direct, then there’s no extra service fee, and you get 100% of your order, so always use your local florist,” said Brendle.
