Clearing Out and Warming Up
4 May 2022
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Our radar was busy today showing that rotational low pressure system right over the eastern side of the state and helping to bring a lot of rain into our region throughout much of today. Don t worry though as this low pressure system will dissipate and high-pressure moves in from the west. This can still bring the chance for some of those showers in the southeast tonight but it will fizzle out as we start off our Thursday. Clear skies and warm temperatures are back in the forecast until Friday when we have another frontal system coming through.
This system is actually expected to stall out and not bring a whole lot of moisture into our area until later this weekend. Wind gusts in the meantime are going to be relatively calm with no more than 25 to 30 mph gusts really coming in until Friday for the northern parts of the state. And when that happens it s going to be from that stalled out frontal system and gusts can get up to over 40 mph in some places.
Overnight tonight, expect those temperatures to be pretty similar to what we’ve seen over the last few nights with lots of 30s and some lower 40s. Now that the system has pushed out of our region and high temperatures tomorrow are going to show more of the 60s and even some 70s throughout the state. That extended forecast is showing that once the rain passes through temperatures will warm up about 20 for tomorrow. Once the temperatures get into the 70 range that Wyoming wind comes back into the forecast from that new stalled out system. Casper is looking at a similar kind of pattern with those breezy conditions lasting into the weekend. The rest of the viewing area is looking at the same pattern so we just need to get through the rain of today and be rewarded with nice weather toward the end of the week.
