Cheyenne Police release annual report; Average year leads to 1,719 arrests
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The past year was a little closer to average when it came to calls for service by Cheyenne Police. That’s according to the annual report released by the department Wednesday.
According to the report, there were more than 70-thousand calls for service last year, with more than 17-hundred arrests and more than 7,000 tickets issued. More than twenty-four hundred citations were traffic-related, with 907 related to speeding, and 158 DUIs. There were also 245 instances of the use of force by police, including 45 takedowns and 33 instances of a firearm being pointed by officers.
There were 27 department complaints - 16 of them internal - 20 of those complaints were sustained.
