CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It was another gloomy start to our day with temperatures struggling to get above the 50s in the south eastern corner of the state. At least this time there was much less in terms of snowfall, although that didn’t last as showers came in during the late evening hours. The showers are state wide as the occluded front pushes its way through the region. Some of them are even turning quite heavy and even a few of them are also dropping a few strikes of lightning. The good news is that most of the snow is staying to the high elevations and mountain ranges until we go into the early morning hours where temperatures will drop below freezing and flurries are very likely. Most accumulation will just stick in mountainous areas especially the ones with winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories.

Wind gusts are actually going to be very calm once the system passes through. Throughout the day tomorrow gusts will only get up to 30 mph along wind prone regions like mountain ranges. The little pressure system is gonna be sitting over top of the state throughout much of tomorrow bringing heavy rain throughout the day so just be sure to carry that umbrella or jacket with you. Once the system passes by Thursday, wind gusts will begin to pick up as temperatures warm back up into the upper 60s and 70s.

Overnight tonight, expect widespread rain showers throughout the region with most of it not letting up until late tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures and cells will stay above average with most places being in the upper 30s and lower 40s. By tomorrow for the highs, they will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s once again as the clouds and rain look to be sticking around. Expect a chance for some isolated snow flurries with a lot more heavy accumulation just sticking to the mountains. It’ll all be worth it in the end as much warmer temperatures are in the forecast for the end of the week and this weekend. Although, it looks like the Wyoming wind is also back in the forecast.
